The USA Mavericks 12U Blue team won the New England Elite Baseball League Championship with a 7-6 win over a tough and battle tested Legends Prospects team on Monday night at Roger Allen Park. The game was a back and forth clash from the first pitch through the game ending double play in the top of the 7th. Ashton St. Pierre was the starting pitcher for the Mavs going four full innings with Joe Allen getting the win, coming onto the hill for the final three innings.

The Mavericks had 13 hits in the game and played a great defensive game highlighted by Joe Allen’s stab off a one hop line drive on the mound, turning to throw to shortstop Hunter Chase to get the lead runner and on to Zach Fredericks at first to complete the game ended double play and the championship was in the Mavericks hands. 

The Mavericks EBL championship playoff run began with a 12-2 win over the East Coast Eagles and then two wins over the SU Gold team, 6-1 and 4-3. The Blue ended their season with a 24-2 record playing teams from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey
