DURHAM — Freshman and USA MAVERICK Max Lewis's two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning scored MAVERICK Ben Isaak to give the Oyster River High School baseball team a 3-2, walk-off win Monday over Milford in Division II.

Lewis was also the winning pitcher. He worked a perfect three innings in relief of starter MAVERICK Aidan Yoder, retiring all nine batters he faced, two by strikeout. Yoder allowed one earned run with seven strikeouts and two walks in five innings.

Isaak went 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI. He led off the eighth with a single and stole second before coming home on Lewis's hit.

EXETER BASEBALL SHUTS DOWN BISHOP GUERTIN 11-0

USA MAVERICK Cody Morissette allowed just one hit over five innings and Exeter cruised to this Division I win. The game ended after 4½ innings due to the 10-run rule.

Morissette had three hits, four RBIs and two doubles for Exeter (4-0), while Jared Brescia (three hits, two RBIs, two runs scored) and MAVERICK Mike Sterritt (RBI triple) starred offensively.
Exeter scored in all four innings it batted.
