USA Mavericks 11U Blue to Play in Championship Game

The USA Mavericks 11U Blue baseball team will play the New England Hurricanes White Salem in the New England Elite Baseball League 11U Division II Championship Game.

The Mavericks and Hurricanes will face off on Saturday June 14 at Riverview Field, 844 Broadway St at UMass Lowell at 4:45 pm.

The 11U Blue came through the losers bracket to reach the Championship Game by defeating the Clipper Pride from Newburyport, 7-1, at Roger Allen Park in Rochester in a rematch of Saturday's first round loss. The 11U Blue won three successive games beginning with a thrilling 5-4 win over their USA Training Center counterparts, the USA Mavericks 11U Red. The 11U Red comeback fell short after scoring four runs in the top of the sixth.

Next they beat the Number One seeded Lowell Jr. Spinners 9-4 to set up the rematch with the Pride. The 7-1 final score was not indicative of how close the game actually was. The Pride threatened throughout the game but the Blue fought back and held off every rally.

The Blue championship opponent defeated the Legends Gold from Middleton, MA and the Dugout Dawgs from Cape Cod twice to reach the "Big Game"

The Maverick Blue record thus far this season stands at 21-2.

The Blue is coached by Paul Gregoire and Brent Bergeron. The roster consists of JC Beason (Kensington), Zack Boston (Berwick), Frank Chase (Seabrook), Caleb Constance (Brentwood), Kyle Druge (Berwick), Jake Kingsbury (Exeter), Owen McKiernan (Durham), Owen Podolec (Berwick), Nick Purdy (No.Hampton), Aidan Sengenberger (Somersworth), Nick Shapleigh (Berwick) and James Wise (Nottingham).
